Military Service Members and Spouses

In 2019, the Illinois Legislature passed legislation expediting licensure for Service Members and Spouses who are an active duty member or whose active duty service concluded within the preceding two years before application.

In part, this law states that, once you or your spouse have submitted all required documents and fees as part of your license application, your application will be reviewed within 60 days.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) knows how critical it is to military families to begin working as soon as they come to the Prairie State, which is why there is a dedicated Military Liaison who will work with you and your military installation’s military and family support center to help you through the licensing process and ensure your application is reviewed within 60 days of IDFPR receiving all required documents.
