Engine House Tour

Engine House Tours

Engine house tours for individuals or organized groups can be scheduled through the Fire Administrative office. The tours provide an opportunity for citizens to see the fire apparatus and equipment used by the department, and to meet some of the department’s firefighters.

ESCAPE Program

The Fire Department promotes fire safety and fire prevention all year round. In October of every year, during Fire Prevention Month, firefighters visit each elementary school in the City to teach fire safety to all of the students and faculty.

E = Educating
S = Showing
C = Children
A = Awareness
P = Procedures
E = Evacuation

Thousands of school children have experienced the ESCAPE program since its inception in the 1980’s. They enjoy the safety lessons brought to them by the firefighters. The fire safety trailer is used throughout the year at several community events.

In-Service Training

In-Service Training

The Belleville Fire Department provides training for schools, hospitals, nursing homes, businesses, and organizations in fire safety, evacuation, and the use of fire extinguishers. This service is provided free of charge, on-site, by appointment, and offers hands-on experience using a fire extinguisher simulator.

SAFE Home Newborn Program

In January of 1995, the Belleville Fire Department began the Smoke Alarm for Every (SAFE) Newborn Program to remind parents of newborn babies of essential fire prevention practices. When a baby is born in Belleville, the Belleville Fire Department presents parents who live within the city limits a gift certificate for one free battery operated smoke detector, including installation in or near the newborn's bedroom.
