4. To complete an Online Police Report, ALL of the following must be true. Check ALL boxes that apply.*

   1. The incident is not an emergency. (Emergencies should be reported immediately by calling 911)
   2. The incident occurred within the corporate city limits of Belleville.
   3. The suspect is unknown. (If the suspect is known, call the Belleville Police Department at 618-234-1212 to complete a report)
   4. You are eighteen (18) years of age or older. (If you are under the age of eighteen, a parent or guardian must submit the report for you)

   If any of the above DO NOT apply to your incident, please call the Belleville Police at 618-234-1212.
6. Filing a False Crime Report is a crime under 720 ILCS 5/26-1(4) in the Illinois Compiled Statues.
   Please note: (1) A person commits disorderly conduct when he/she knowingly transmits or causes to be transmitted in any manner to any peace officer, public officer or public employee a report to the effect that an offense will be committed, is being committed, or has been committed, knowing at the time of such transmission that there is no reasonable ground for believing that such an offense will be committed, is being committed, or has been committed. (2) A violation of this section is a Class 4 Felony which can result in fines and/or imprisonment.

    Within a few business days following submission, your report will be assigned a case number and will be submitted for review by a BPD Supervisor. If further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted. A confirmation email including the case number will be sent to you for your records.
