Historic Preservation Commission
The Belleville Historic Preservation Commission was formed in 1972 by city ordinance to assist in integrating preservation principles into all community wide planning efforts. The concern of the Commission at its inception, and still today, lies exclusively with the enhancement and perpetuation of Belleville’s historic neighborhoods and landmark buildings.

Design Guidelines/Design Review Request (DRR)
Design Review Request (DRR) applications are required for exterior improvements to properties located within one of Belleville's three local historic districts, as outlined in the Design Guideline/Policies & Procedures Manual (This is a large file. It may take a few minutes to open). DRR Applications should be submitted to the Health, Housing & Building Department located at 407 E. Lincoln St., Belleville, IL 62220. For assistance, please contact the Historic Preservation Commission's City staff liaison via the below information.
