Cemetery History

Originating in 1850, Walnut Hill Cemetery is the oldest and most historic public cemetery in this area. Settled among gently rolling hills, a peaceful lake and a lovely chapel available for funeral services, you will find a Civil War Memorial, a Veterans of Foreign War Memorial, above ground monuments, lawn crypts, and various other statues. This peaceful and picturesque setting offers a tranquil resting place for loved ones.

The St. Clair County Genealogical Society has published a complete History of Walnut Hill Cemetery
