Construction of the South Side Park Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Lift Station and Relief Sewers is being financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). Review the additional details regarding this project and its funding.

The sewage treatment plant located at
450 Environmental Drive, operates 24
hours per day,
and is permitted to
treat 8 million gallons of wastewater
each day with a maximum excess
flow capacity of 16 million gallons
per day.
See (NPDES Permit IL0021873).

Currently the average daily flow through
the treatment system is 5 to 6 million
gallons per day. The plant is fed by nearly
300 miles of sewage collection lines.
The entire collection system has 50
sewage lift stations that pump sewage from low-lying areas to the plant via sewer collection lines.
